Tantalizing Thursday – Countdown to Interview with A Master, by Jason Luke

The ARC’s were delivered today, and those of us who live for this sort of thing are pulling all-nighters to enjoy this extraordinary book.  I haven’t finished it yet; I’m taking my time, resisting the urge to devour it.  Like food, wine, chocolate and sex, great stories should be savored as a feast, not fast-food.

When I finish the first read, I will write a full review and publish it literally everywhere I can find.  In the meantime, take a look at some first impressions that I shamelessly copied from Jason’s Facebook Page:

“Okay….I’m only going to say this ONCE…
if you do not read #InterviewWithAMaster by Jason Luke (TBR Feb.8th) you WILL regret it! One of the couple books I’ve read this year that will forever be with me! AMAZING! watch out Christian Grey….JONAH NOBLE HAS ARRIVED!!!!!”
– Mistress Renee

“Jason Luke has ruined me!!!!!! I’m not sure I can read another book after just reading ‘ Interview with a Master’. Simply perfection! Ladies, please listen to me, I’m begging you…READ this!! I think I highlighted the whole damn book!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!”
-Emilia Rebel Book Man-Eater

I can’t remember when I’ve seen so much excitement for a new author — or such wild anticipation for a book that didn’t even exist 6 weeks ago. What this says to me is that there is a passionately curious audience  that wants to explore and understand the myths and mysteries surrounding a true BDSM relationship.  From what I’ve read so far, every word is perfectly chosen to convey a story of exquisite seduction, from beginning to end.  It is honest, powerful, and absolutely riveting.

More later — I have reading to do!

P.S. I’ll also summarize my interview with Jason — check back later — hopefully there are a few secrets left to be revealed…

Wicked Wednesday – Interview with a Master

I had the exquisite pleasure of speaking with Jason Luke today via phone from Sydney, Australia.  I’m still thinking about how to write down my impressions. But the one word that keeps coming to mind is “impressed”. He’s a very articulate gentleman, with a smooth, sexy Aussie accent that I will be thinking about when I shouldn’t be. Think Hugh Jackman. Then crank it up about 1000 times. Yes, that’s  it. My husband stares at me and wonders why I’m still smiling to myself – hours later.  I will leave you wondering what we talked about – but it was all about the book and I am even more impatient to read the rest of it now!

So — the countdown continues to February 8th

Synopsis – From Goodreads

“It’s the interview like no other.
It’s the interview of a lifetime.
It’s THE Interview with a Master.
When Jonah Noble reveals details of his life within the world of BDSM, the tale he tells is intensely erotic, profoundly sensual, and brutally honest.
This is His world. His way.
There is only one question the man will not answer…”

Teasers….to die for….

“Anticipation is more potent than a whip and more compelling than handcuffs. The ability to tease and arouse a woman is a subtle skill few men ever bother to learn,” I said. “But learning the art of anticipation can make a woman go weak at the knees with longing.”
“I’m listening…” Leticia said. “But I don’t follow.”
“I’ll give you an example,” I smiled wickedly….”

“To my way of thinking, a good Master is the iron fist within a velvet glove,” I said. “The man needs to be firm and resolute. He needs to be confident and assured. He needs to be her rock: the one man in the world his submissive can turn to for advice, help, guidance and comfort. And he needs to be able to arouse and excite her. He needs to be able to keep her on edge and off balance. He needs to know her better than she knows herself – and he needs to be all these things to her without losing his honor, or destroying her dignity and independence. He needs to lift her up, Leticia, so that she becomes the person she wants to be, and then he needs to hold her there so she can never ever fall.”

My Review —  Five Incredible Stars to Jason Luke

I am obsessed and ready to be possessed by Jonah Noble. Having read the first third of the book as an ARC, I can say without hesitation that Interview with a Master is going to skyrocket upon its release.  It is powerfully erotic, honest, and explicit ~ but restrained enough to keep you holding your breath to see where Jonah takes you next.  I could not put it down, and I cannot wait to pick it up again.

We weren’t supposed to be friends.  We weren’t even supposed to like each other.

I’m Michael Grath. I’ll admit I was elected to Congress on my Republican family history. I was out to make a name for myself, until I met Jessie Clark, a spitfire Democrat.

She’d be my nemesis, if I could just stop thinking about her. We’ve got nothing and everything in common, and one big issue that divides us. All of this is going to land us in more than one compromising position.

And like I said, we weren’t supposed to be friends, we weren’t even supposed to like each other, and we certainly weren’t supposed to fall in love.

About the Author

Even before she graduated from law school, Mary Whitney knew she wasn’t cut out to be a real lawyer. Drawn to politics, she’s spent her career as an organizer, lobbyist, and nonprofit executive. Nothing piques her interest more than a good political scandal or romance, and when she stumbled upon writing, she put the two together. A born Midwesterner, naturalized Texan, and transient resident of Washington, D.C., Mary now lives in Northern California with her two daughters and real lawyer husband.
