Meet Gentleman Nine…

Growing up, the three of us were friends.

He was the nerd.

I was the playboy.

She was the beauty.

Deep down, I only ever wanted her. I kept it inside because Rory and I made a pact that our friend, Amber, was off-limits.

He lied.

I went off to college, and he got the girl.

Amber never knew how I felt.

They were together for years—before he broke her heart.

Through it all and across the miles, she and I casually stayed in touch.

When my job sent me to Boston for a three-month contract position, Amber let me stay in her spare room.

Still reeling from her breakup, she’d sworn off men.

One night, I opened her computer to find the shock of my life. She’d hesitantly contacted a male escort company. Afraid to date and get her heart broken again, she was looking for sex with no strings.

Every emotion imaginable ran through me: protectiveness, jealousy—curiosity.

Amber had chosen Gentleman Number Nine and sent him a message.

She opened up to him, confessing, among other things, her physical attraction to her friend—me. But she considered me off-limits—and she thought I was a manwhore. (Ironic, considering the circumstances.)

Eventually, she set up a date to meet Gentleman Nine at a hotel.

When she showed up several nights later to meet him, she was stunned to see me standing there—with an offer I hoped she wouldn’t refuse.

Sarina Bowen

Release Date: February 12, 2018

Read an Excerpt from Brooklynaire…

I grab a towel off a waiting stack of them and toss it onto the edge. “You can sit and put your feet in.”

She’s wearing a short little knit dress that’s been making me crazy all evening, so it would be easy enough for her to strip off those stockings, sit on the towel, and drop both feet in.

And that’s what she does. She eases one stocking down over a smooth knee and tugs it off.

I don’t want to stand there staring like a middle-school boy. Okay, I do want to. But I don’t want to make her uncomfortable. So I go over to the sound system instead, and I set my phone on the speaker and cue up a really old playlist. One she’ll recognize.

When I turn around again, she’s seated on the towel, both legs hanging down into the churning water. “Ah. Wow.” She looks up at me, her eyes sparkling. “Nice place you got here.”

“Isn’t it?” I toe off my shoes and kick them to the side.

The first song comes on, and it’s a Macklemore tune that we used to play far too often in our first office. Rebecca laughs immediately. “You didn’t! I haven’t heard this playlist in forever. But I’ll bet I still know every transition. Lady Gaga is next.”

“She sure is.”

Rebecca kicks her feet, making a splash. “I have a little confession to make.”

“What’s that?” I loosen my tie and slide the knot out.

“Well…” She grins up at me. “I used to have a crush on you. Back in the early days.”

My hands freeze on the tie silk. “Get out of town. You did not.”

“No, I really did.” Her cheeks are pink. “That first year especially. But you were taken, and you were my boss. Those two things made it pretty easy to tamp down, when you’re a practical girl like me.”

I walk over and drop down beside her, my back to the water, though, because I’m still wearing trousers and socks. “So how does that work, exactly?”

“What?” She gives me a sidelong glance, but then looks away again and won’t meet my eyes.

“How do you stop wanting someone? I’m a practical person, but I don’t see how that makes it any easier. Nothing seems to mute the raging attraction I have for you.”

Her chin turns quickly toward me, and I seize the opportunity to kiss her. And it only takes one kiss—one slide of my lips over hers, and I’m on fire again.

We’re facing opposite directions, so it’s awkward as hell. But I don’t even care. I take greedy sip after greedy sip of her mouth, until she pulls back to stare at me. Her color is high and her eyes are bright and happy. “This is like Twister.”

“It’s better,” I correct. Lady Gaga comes on, just as Becca said she would. “Are we getting into this pool or what?”

Becca kicks a foot in the water. “I’m tempted. But I don’t have a bathing suit.”

“Oh, snap.”

She smiles and shakes her head. “Are you really getting in?”

“We don’t have to.” I’m never going to pressure her.

Her fingers trail across the surface of the bubbling water. “But this is an adventure, right?”

“Right.” I stand up and remove my socks. She’s watching me. And I can’t read her expression. “What?”

“Just wondering what else you’re going to take off.” She smiles.

“Come here.” The order rolls off my tongue.

But Rebecca doesn’t blink. She gets up and turns toward me, curiosity in her eyes.

“You tell me. What am I taking off?”

She puts two hands tentatively on my chest, and I make myself be patient. Everything I ever wanted is on the other side of this moment. I just need us to break through this awkwardness—the “will we or won’t we” tension.

Her fingers find the top button of my shirt. “I’m not getting in the water unless you are.”

That’s a compromise I can live with. I find my lower shirt buttons and work upwards, until we meet in the middle. She pushes the two halves of my shirt apart and runs a hand down my bare chest.

My inner caveman stands up and cheers.

EXCERPT

“Just to be clear,” he says, his voice low and rough. “I’m breaking every rule I own with you. I don’t fuck women I’m protecting.”

“You could hand me over to someone else,” I suggest, “and it won’t matter.”

“Not a chance in hell,” he says, his hand sliding under my hair to cup my neck. “We’ll break the rules together.”

“I’m not sure I like how you do ‘together’.”

“I’ll make sure you do,” he promises, his lips slanting over mine, and this time he kisses me like he owns me, like he wants to control me, and like I really am his, like I belong to him, and in this very moment, I can honestly say

I am. I want him, and I can’t get enough of him.

And how can it ever be enough when he’s this damn impossibly hot, and he’s such a damn good kisser. The way he makes me want his mouth on every part of me and the way he makes me want my mouth on every part of him. And so, there it is. I’m his, but I’m going to make damn sure he’s mine, too. I kiss him back as passionately as he’s kissing me. I meet him stroke for stroke, arching into him, telling him I am here and present, and I’m not even close to afraid of him or of this. He doesn’t get to control me. He isn’t making me do this. I control me, and I choose him and this.

Arching into him, his shoulder holster and mine are in the way, and I want them gone. I want him naked. Just to be certain that he knows that’s where I want this to go, my hand presses between us and I stroke the hard line of his shaft. He groans low in his throat, a sexy rough sound that tells me he gets the point. This isn’t his show. It’s ours. It’s us together, or there is no show, with or without our clothes on.

His reaction is to tear his mouth from mine, his lips lingering there though, as if he wants to kiss me again, and just when I would kiss him again, he leans away just enough to shrug out of his jacket. I take one step backward, and do the same with my blazer. I reach down and pull off my boots and he does the same. Next, we disconnect our shoulder holsters, and the truth is, it’s the first time I’ve ever been with a man who is probably more armed than me. That feels significant when it perhaps is not. He’s not a cop. He’s not that kind of career complication. He’s a Green-fucking-Beret, and one hell of a hot one, for that matter.

He sets his weapon on the couch and snags my hand, walking me toward him and taking my holster and weapon as he does. “Just making sure you don’t end up shooting me before this is over,” he says, setting it with his before shackling my hip.

“I told you I’ll wait until after the orgasms.”

“Careful,” he says, a hint of a smile on his lips again. “I might hold that orgasm and you captive.”

“You can try,” I say, but my head isn’t in the game in this moment, and somehow my hand is on his face, right by the almost smile, that seems to have complicated what should be sex, an escape, a way to pull back the emotions that umbrella stirred in me. That smile reminds me that Mr. Robot is his wall, his way to cope with death, with whatever makes him protect Jesse Marks.

He captures my hand. “What are you thinking?”

“That you have on too many clothes,” I say, before I let this go someplace emotional, somewhere that two people like us never want to go.

My hands press under his shirt, but he doesn’t immediately give me what I want. He studies me for several beats and then kisses me hard and fast. Too fast, but I get over it when he pulls his shirt off. He cups my face and kisses me, his hand sliding up my shirt, his touch fire that has me helping him pull my shirt over my head. Letting him drag me to him where he now sits on the couch. I straddle him, my bra somehow gone by the time I’m there. But my hands press to his shoulders, and I hold him at bay. “I will still arrest you if I need to,” I promise. “This doesn’t change that.”

“You aren’t going to arrest me any more than you hate me.” He glances down at my chest, his gaze a hot caress as it rakes over my breasts, my nipples, before his eyes meet mine. “Because you know I’m protecting you.”

I ignore the ache between my thighs. Or I try. “From what? The slayer or the Jesse Marks damage patrol?”

His hand slides between my shoulder blades and he molds my chest to his. “Do you really want to talk about Jesse Marks right now? Because if you ask me questions, I’m going to ask you questions when I’d much rather be inside you, giving you as many reasons as I can not to arrest me. But you pick. Conversation or fucking.”

“Both,” I say, because it’s the truth. I want answers and I want the conversation my emotions are having in my head to shut up. “Fucking first.” I push away from him and stand up, unbuttoning my pants, sliding them down my hips, and he watches me with that unreadable, robot expression that is admittedly sexy as hell. I press my lips to his and that’s all it takes.

We are crazy, hot, kissing, his hands on my breasts, my nipples, my neck. I can’t touch him enough. I can’t feel him enough, can’t get close enough, and that’s new to me. I don’t need anyone the way I feel I need this man. I don’t want to need anyone this much, but it’s too late. At least, right here, right now, I do. He rolls us to our sides, facing one another, the wide cushion of the couch more than holding us and the next kiss isn’t fast and frenzied. It’s long, drugging, and somewhere in the midst of his tongue stroking my tongue, I end up on my back with the heavy weight of him on top of me…

My Review of Falling Under

Falling Under: a Walker Security standalone novelFalling Under: a Walker Security standalone novel by Lisa Renee Jones
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Falling Under, a standalone Walker Security novel by favorite author Lisa Renee Jones, is probably my favorite of this now 3-book series, and it’s all about the characters.

Jacob King, or “Tin Man” as his Walker colleagues call him, is an alpha beast of a man; a stunningly handsome, foreboding former Green Beret who’s also a lethal assassin with dark, painful secrets that have come to define how he relates to the world around him. He’s smart, cunning, and dangerous, a man who thrives on the adrenaline rush that comes with the most potentially risky and life-threatening assignments; but, more than that, he’s a man who feels he has nothing to live for other than putting himself in mortal danger. It allows him to insulate himself from close relationships and avoid intimate ones altogether. Until he meets Jewel Carpenter.

Jewel – or Detective Carpenter as she prefers to be called – is a steely woman in a man’s world: the New York City police department. Following in her late uncle’s footsteps, Jewel has established herself as a savvy, fearless, street-smart investigator, aware that every case is an opportunity to prove herself equal to her masculine colleagues on the force; always needing to make her uncle proud. She prefers being alone, focused solely on the next arrest and conviction. Until she meets Jacob.

Jacob is hired to protect Jewel when threats from an unknown stalker place her life in danger. However, as you might expect, Jewel neither wants or thinks she needs his protection. He’s a distraction, a nuisance, a force to be reckoned with that she wants to hate, but can’t. She can, however, push every one of his buttons. Likewise, Jacob’s simple protection assignment is made nearly impossible as he is forced to fight with Jewel over every decision, every minute. The two of them together are like a wildfire approaching an oil refinery: Combustible. Explosive. And when the sparks that fly between them ignite, each is quickly overtaken by the flames of long-suppressed passion and all-consuming desire. It takes awhile, but it’s well worth the wait to see this alpha male and his alpha female counterpart struggle for control in a situation that’s anything but. Written in dual POV, the story tells itself in two distinct voices that will linger with you long after you finish reading.

Falling Under is suspenseful from start to finish. There are twists, turns, and misdirections galore in the search for Jewel’s enigmatic, clever, and unrelenting stalker. Even with the power of Walker Security at their disposal, it feels as if the stalker is always one step ahead, and one step closer to claiming victory. This sets up even more conflict between Jacob and Jewel as their decisions are now affected by their growing need for each other. This leads to a climax that is anything but expected and the reader is carried away, first by a sense of triumph and then by a powerful, palpable sense of loss. This is the first book in the series that brought me to tears. And it was totally worth it.

The pacing is perfect and the sex scenes are, as usual, erotically breath-taking and panty-melting, providing a break from the suspense and providing intimate insight into the needs and vulnerabilities of each primary character. The supporting cast of Walker brothers, wives, and colleagues from the previous books in the series provides a welcoming sense of relief–and hope–just when you need it most. You can’t help but feel a connection to the Walker clan, even if you start with this novel as a standalone. Although I think it might be more enjoyable if read in the series in order, you won’t miss anything significant if you start with this latest release. I guarantee you’ll be hooked to the point that you’ll want to one-click Deep Under and Pulled Under by the time you close the last page of this one.

If you’re in the mood to get lost in a romantic suspense novel, Falling Under, with its two feisty, kick-ass primary characters is like watching WWE with great sex. You might know how you think it will end, but it will keep you guessing–and spellbound–from beginning to end.

Hot Shot (North Ridge #3) by Karina Halle: Hot, Heartbreaking, and Oh So Good

Hot Shot by Karina Halle - Front Cover

“A flame reaches forward like a hand, fingers outstretched toward the dirt line. It jumps across in an arc of flames. Wraps right around my throat, squeezes me with a pain I’ve never known. And in that moment, the moment of my death, I realize there’s nothing to fear. It’s just relief. That it’s all over. That I don’t have to worry anymore. That I don’t have to live in pain anymore. That I don’t have to hate anymore. The world burns away and somewhere in the dark skeleton forest, I know there is peace. Just out of reach.”

About Hot Shot

Delilah Gordon has a secret.

She’s been in love with her best friend and the boy next door, Fox Nelson, since she was six years old.

And while most of her friends and family know about her unrequited crush, the one person who remains oblivious is Fox himself. To Delilah, it’s better this way. She’d rather pretend that they’re just friends, even though her feelings for the moody, rugged mountain man are anything but tame.

Fox Nelson has a secret too. As a wildland firefighter or “hot shot,” Fox parachutes into danger every day he’s on the job, risking all to fight wildfires that threaten ranches, forests and thousands of lives. But while Fox’s job is only for the brave, inside he feels anything but. The more he grapples with his raging demons, the more he realizes Delilah is the only one who can put out the flames.

As the two friends grow closer – and more intimate – than ever before, the more complicated their relationship becomes.

And Delilah has one more secret to reveal.

A secret that will change both their lives… forever.

My Review

Hot Shot (North Ridge, #3)Hot Shot by Karina Halle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh. My. God. This book kills. On an ugly cry scale from 1-10, it’s a solid 8. Sometimes I couldn’t read through the tears streaming down my face. But it was SO worth it.

I confess I hadn’t read books 1 and 2 of the North Ridge series before diving into Hot Shot, so I knew there were other stories behind the secondary characters and was concerned I might have missed something important to this story. As it turns out, I needn’t have worried; there are references to the relationships established in the first two standalones in this series, but they didn’t detract from this one. And Hot Shot, Fox and Delilah’s story, is so powerful that it made me want to go back and start the series from the beginning — I’ll be doing that today.

As always, Karina Halle draws and develops deep, complex characters that instantly engage you, frustrate you, thrill you, delight you, hurt you, and compel you to keep reading. Fox, the alpha hero/anti-hero of this story, is a beautifully broken, confused, fearful young man, taunted by guilt and shame, driven to put his life on the line as an elite firefighter as his life spirals out of control and ultimately unravels around him. Delilah is a less complex character, but powerful in her strength, compassion, tenderness, patience, selflessness, and devoted love for this tortured man. Their story will tie you in knots, then lift you up, then tear you apart, then put you back together again.

There is so much more I could say about this beautiful book – its masterful settings, raw alpha eroticism, meaningful dialogue, sizzling chemistry, and heartbreaking conflicts are all-consuming. I read it in one sitting and thought about it for hours afterward. I know I’ll read it again because I devoured it – and now I want to go back and read the series in order so I can savor every word.

If you’re in the mood for an emotional read that will take you to the highest highs and the lowest lows, one-click Hot Shot today. You’ll thank me tomorrow.

New Release: Man Card, by Sarina Bowen – Excerpt and Review

Promo Banner for Man Card by Sarina Bowen

Synopsis

Nothing ventured, nothing banged…

Ash
I still don’t know how it happened. One minute I was arguing with my arrogant competitor–our usual trash-talk over who deserves the larger commission. But somehow I went from throwing down to kneeling down…
It can never happen again. I don’t even like Braht. He’s too slick. He’s a manipulating mansplaining party boy in preppy clothes.
So why can’t I get him out of my head?

Braht
There are two things I know without question. One: Ash and I are destined for each other. Two: never trust a man with a unibrow.
Ash is my missing my piece. She’s the sweet cream to my gourmet espresso. And nothing gets me going faster than her contempt for me. They don’t call her the Ashkicker for nothing.

Eventually I’ll win her over…if my past doesn’t ruin everything first.

An Exclusive Excerpt from Man Card…

Front Cover of Man CardName your other favorite movies,” I challenge Braht.

All of them?” He chugs his margarita.

Hmm. Top ten? Top five?”

That’s totally easy,” he says. Somehow I’ve gotten closer to him on the floor. When he sits back, I actually snuggle in beside him. He’s wearing a ridiculously soft shirt that feels good against my skin. And I watch with fascination as he ticks off the names of films on his fingers. When Harry Met Sally. The Devil Wears Prada. Roman Holiday. Clueless. And Working Girl.”

I burst out laughing. I can’t help it. Those are all chick flicks. You should just hand over your man card right now.”

Not a chance.” Braht’s expression grows intense. In the first place, I gave you a very thorough demonstration of my man card last week. I don’t remember hearing any complaints.”

I swallow hard, because this is certainly true.

And secondly, you’re looking at this all backward.”

I…am?” And why can’t I look away? He has the most beautiful, intelligent eyes.

Yeah, you are,” he whispers. It’s the guy who has a firm grip on his man card that can hold your purse. He’s not afraid to be seen with that Tory Burch you like to carry—nice color, by the way. He’ll free up your hands because he likes your hands, and he remembers all the terrific things you can use them for.”

Oh,” I say slowly. Now my fingers itch to reach out for him. I have to make fists with both hands so I won’t do it.

Furthermore, he’s not afraid to quote Working Girl. Because Joan Cusack is a genius. And who wouldn’t want to say Melanie Griffith’s best line out loud?”

I can’t help saying it with him, and together we sound like the world’s horniest Greek chorus: I have a head for business and a body for sin.”

Sin sounds pretty good right now, actually. But Braht’s not done with his speech. Any man who tells you that chick flicks are for pussies can’t be any good in bed. Because that man does not speak the language of women. He doesn’t know that a little luxury can erase a shitty day of worrying about your ex…”

Braht takes my hand in his and begins to massage it. He has a great technique, applying gentle pressure between each joint. I relax just a little bit more against him.

“…That man doesn’t speak the language because he’s afraid of sounding like a girl. But fuck that noise, honey bear. If a man doesn’t have the vocabulary to describe a satin teddy with peekaboo lace and mother-of-pearl snaps at the crotch, he can’t buy it for you and then strategically ask you to wear it. He can’t plan ahead to blow your mind sometime by lifting your skirt somewhere semi-public and dangerous. And he can’t get down on his knees and kiss that lace and then pop open those snaps while you bite your own hand to keep from screaming when you climax.” Braht takes a deep breath and lets it out in one hot gust. Fuck. What was the point of this speech?”

“Um…” My voice is hoarse, and my face is suddenly very hot. Let’s not even mention my nipples. Man cards, I think.” But I’m not sure, because everything tingles.

Right,” he says with a sigh. Still got mine. Shall we watch Working Girl next?”

Okay,” I breathe, sinking a little further into his comforting embrace.

My Review of Man Card

Man Card (Man Hands, #2)Man Card by Sarina Bowen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this story even more than Man Hands, which was one of my favorite romantic reads of 2017. Man Card is the smart, sexy, sassy, often funny, sometimes suspenseful, almost heart-breaking, frienemies-to-lovers sequel to Man Hands, taking the story of three best girlfriends – and the men they love – to a new level.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about Ashley and Braht when they were introduced as secondary characters in Man Hands. Their love-hate relationship seemed, at first, a bit too superficial and their no-holds-barred competitive real estate stunts felt a little over-the-top. That is until Sarina took that pent-up hostility, matched it with pent-up passion, and made it explosive. By the end of Man Hands, I was ready, eager, and waiting for more of these two quirky characters.

Man Card delivers — and then some. The competitive pranks continue, and they’re hilarious. The chemistry escalates to a fever pitch. But beneath the surface, we find two slightly broken people, people with painful secrets, trying to put the past behind them and find joy in life. For Braht, it’s Ashley, and he knows it. For Ashley, it’s Braht, and she hasn’t figured that out yet.

I love Braht’s patience, protectiveness, persistence, determination, sense of humor, sense of responsibility, and his persistence. I love Ashley’s spirit, creativity, compassion, and strength. You will too. Man Card may be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, get the party started with Man Hands. Do yourself a favor: one-click Man Hands today, pre-order Man Card at the same time, then sit back and enjoy this funny, sexy, angsty, delightful ride from beginning to end.

Free designer cocktails, they say. And that’s a game-changer.

Too bad my ex shows up with his new arm candy. That’s when I lose my mind. But when my besties dare me to leap on the first single man I see, they don’t expect me to actually go through with it.

My Review of End Game

End Game (Dirty Money, #4)End Game by Lisa Renee Jones
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

End Game (Dirty Money, #4) is the epic conclusion to the best romantic-suspense series I read in 2017–a series I honestly hoped would never end. Like all of the preceding novels in the Dirty Money series, it rocked my world–and being from California, I know what it feels like when the earth rocks under your feet. I loved everything about End Game–except one deeply personal sacrifice that was vital to the plot, but heartbreaking nonetheless. It was a logical, perfectly timed plot twist, one that revealed more about the characters than would have been possible had it been written any other way; but it still hurt like a punch to the solar plexus. The pain lingered through the end of the book and beyond.

I may have said it before, but I’ll say it again: The Dirty Money series has it all. Passion. Fury. Betrayal. Suspicion. Secrets. Revenge. Breath-taking sex and heart-pounding suspense. End Game brings them all together in a wildly emotional thrill-ride that explores the darkest of human motives– greed, power, and vengeance; tests the boundaries between good and evil; and reveals, above all, the strength and limitless power of unconditional love.

Lisa Renee Jones has created unforgettable characters in the Brandon family, especially in Shane, the alpha hero whose internal and external conflicts drive the plot relentlessly toward its conclusion; and in Emily, Shane’s lover and a dark heroine with secrets of her own. The supporting characters are also extraordinarily well-developed, layered and complex, with twists and turns that parallel the elaborate plot and provide the contrast between light and dark that defines this series.

If you are looking for an intelligent, sexy, suspenseful series that will take you on an emotional journey at a breakneck pace, with characters that will stay in your mind and heart forever, look no further. This story is so absorbing you will lose track of time and place, and when it’s done, it will leave you with a book hangover that may last for weeks – at least it did for me. I’ll read it again while I hope for more of Shane and Emily in the future – and look forward to Lisa’s next remarkable series.

My Review of Unmistaken

I’ve enjoyed every book in the Elkridge Series, and Unmistaken is no exception: it’s tender, poignant, and passionate in every detail. Ethan is truly a hero in need of healing, as is the heroine, Noelle; and naturally, in any good romance novel, the process of finding, almost losing, and ultimately healing each other is what readers crave. Unmistaken will satisfy that craving in every way. Although it may easily be read as a standalone, having read the previous books in the series brings important context to the story. Familiarity with the settings, the characters, and their various stories brings much-needed warmth to a highly emotional reading experience.

Lyz tackles many important issues in Unmistaken, including love, loss, disillusionment, and the pain of unfinished business in our lives — things left unspoken, people left behind, and loved ones lost. It’s a lot to pack into a novel, but it works, because it’s beautifully expressed. The only drawbacks for me were related to a common frustration with contemporary romance: the characters fail to communicate until it’s nearly too late. They make unfounded assumptions. Sometimes they fail to see each other’s needs because they’re overly focused on their own. In this case, Noelle, the heroine, frustrated the daylights out of me. She’s so determined that there is only one way to move forward with her life, she refuses to entertain other possibilities. She makes impulsive decisions and sticks to them with obstinance that’s nearly beyond belief. Granted, that’s an essential conflict in the story but it doesn’t make it any less frustrating, especially given her feelings for Ethan.

In one respect, I think the resolution was almost a little too easy, after all the build-up; but it didn’t detract from this heartfelt story. If you’re looking for a holiday read that will warm you inside and out, look no further than Unmistaken. And while you’re at it, read the rest of this beautifully written series as well.

Q & A with Lyz

Why would I want to read the Elkridge Series?  Each book in the Elkridge series is a piece to a puzzle—a suspenseful mystery involving the murder of a small-town sheriff. You get six contemporary romance books to figure out the mystery and a bunch of happy ever after (HEA) endings. Two novels in this fiction series—Blinded and Orphaned—are award-winning romance books.

Where is Elkridge, Colorado?  Elkridge exists only in my mind. On any given day, I can stop at River Creek Café for Jenna’s fresh baked cinnamon rolls, or shop for a birthday present at Mara’s Blooms, or get my nails done at Kym’s nail salon. Sitting in the park eating lunch, I can watch the kids play and hear the latest gossip from neighbors. Later, if I want, I can stop at Mad Jack’s to hear a local band play and get some dinner. Elkridge is a great small town where the sun shines 360 days a year and people do their best to make ends meet.

Would you tell us about your writing process?  It takes me awhile to write each stand-alone story because I am passionate about creating the very best stories for my readers. These contemporary romance books have complex plots and sub-plots and include suspense romance threads, with deep emotional women’s fiction elements, humor and even a bit of quirkiness. I’m so excited to see the 5-star ratings because it means I’ve created the ideal mix to provide readers with a few hours of enjoyment.
